How to troubleshoot boat lights not working? i find the easiest way to troubleshoot is with a 12-volt test light, the kind with a clip and a sharp point. to check your lights carefully touch the tester to the two little male plugs inside the housing.. The switch is connected to the terminal block in the console (power) which i know works cuz of the stern light. wires to all 3 lights run under the deck to the stern where it splits off to feed that light. then two run up the starboard side to the bow lights, which don't work. i checked the connections to each bow light and they seem fine.. I have a 2001 searay 280 sundancer. my navigation lights will not come on. it has an anchor light on top of the arch and it does come on, but no red/green lights. switch light comes on and indicates that lights are on. bulbs are good. voltage check at bulb location, indicates no power. any suggestions?.
